Hi, I’m Mike.

I live in Somerset and spend much of my free time exploring the landscapes of the West Country, places like Dartmoor, the Quantock Hills and the quiet places close to where I live, with weary bones and a camera in hand.

Western Light brings together two things I enjoy most - photography and filmmaking. Through short films and still images, I hope to share not just the places themselves, but why they’re worth slowing down for.

I’m not interested in rushing from viewpoint to viewpoint or even capturing the epic! I’d rather spend time noticing the small details, the changing weather, the colours, textures and stories that make each landscape unique.

Every film and photograph on this site is part of that journey.
