First Signs of Autumn
It's been a long, hot summer. At times it has felt like an endless battle to keep cool. But now the muddy puddles have begun to return to my local woodland — and with them, the first signs of autumn.
Behind the Film
Autumn hasn't arrived all at once this year. Instead, it appears in little pockets — a fallen leaf, a patch of colour, textures in dead wood, mushrooms appearing on the woodland floor.
The challenge wasn't to photograph an obvious autumn landscape. It was to slow down and notice the small changes that might otherwise be walked straight past.
Sometimes a photograph doesn't exist until you stop and look closely.
