Step into the quiet details of a Somerset woodland through macro photography. Among fallen leaves, rotting timber, and tangled branches, there’s an unseen world of decay and renewal. Fungi rise from fallen trees, moss blankets weathered bark, and new life quietly appears where you least expect it. In this film, I explore the small, overlooked moments on the forest floor—because in nature, even death brings hope. Join me for a photographic wander through the woods.
Behind The Film
Behind the Film
This film was photographed in a Somerset woodland, using the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II and M.Zuiko 60mm f/2.8 Macro lens.
I wanted to look beyond the obvious and explore the smaller details of the woodland floor, from fungi and moss to the textures of decaying wood and fallen leaves.
Most of the photography was captured using natural light, taking time to work with the conditions and find different perspectives.
