Pomegranates in Somerset

An early morning springtime walk around Cothelstone Hill on the Quantock Hills AONB. Bluebells, quiet pathways, sunlight, photography and pomegranate seeds!

Film 2 – Cothelstone, Spring

Behind the Film

This film was another step in finding my voice as a filmmaker. Cothelstone is a place I've visited many times over the years, and spring always brings a quiet sense of renewal to the landscape.

By this point I was beginning to think less about simply recording a walk and more about telling a story. I was experimenting with different camera angles, slower pacing and allowing the landscape to breathe rather than rushing from one scene to the next.

Looking back, I can see where I was still learning, but I can also see the first signs of the style that would eventually become Western Light.

Every film teaches me something. This one taught me patience.
