A Photographer's Walk at Otterhead Lakes

A peaceful walk around Otterhead Lakes in Somerset. Along the way I reflect on photography, the landscape, and the quiet moments that make a day memorable.

Film 3 – Otterhead

Behind the Film

By the time I made this film, something had started to click.

Instead of concentrating on individual shots, I found myself thinking about the journey through the landscape. I wanted each scene to lead naturally into the next, allowing the viewer to experience the place rather than simply watch it.

Otterhead gave me the confidence to trust quieter moments and slower storytelling. It reminded me that not every film needs dramatic scenery. Sometimes the atmosphere of a place is enough.

Looking back now, I think this was the first glimpse of the direction I wanted Western Light to take.

This was the film where the pieces began to fall into place.
